Apple hiring experts in its search for a “mobile payments” solution

Reports have Apple looking to hire some industry executives that’ll help it build its mobile payments solution. This new payments system will be based on Apple’s current iTunes database, which Apple apparently wants to expand to third party retailers. The report reads:
“The company has been meeting with potential applicants for two new positions at Apple focused exclusively on building a business around the hundreds of millions of credit cards it already has on file. Apple is seeking to fill head of product and head of business development positions, one of these people said.
it’ll most probably not happen until later this year or the next. With reports of Apple seeking a partnership with PayPal, and with other reports claiming that Apple and Square failed to reach a deal, it’s clear that Cupertino is in a rush.
