HTC Watch film store to close down this month

HTC has confirmed that it is to close down its HTC Watch video sale and rental service at the end of the month, warning members that they need to download their content before this date if they want to retain access.HTC Watch film store to close down this month
Launched in April 2011 alongside the HTC Sensation, HTC Watch provided a central store for all Android-powered HTC devices to rent and buy film and TV content. Purchased content was, theoretically, available for the life of the user's account through the official HTC Watch Library - but the company has confirmed that this is to shut down forever at the end of the month.
"As a user of the HTC Watch service we would like to notify you that from March 31st 2014 the store will no longer be available," the company warned users in an email this weekend. "Up until this date, you will still be able to purchase movies from the HTC Watch store as normal. Your library will not be accessible after March 31st, 2014. Please download the movies you have purchased to your devices before the above mentioned date."
The global closure of the service follows a shrinking of its availability in May last year, when customers in Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands received a similar message warning that HTC was to "focus our efforts on markets with the highest engagement."
UK customers with content in their HTC Watch library are advised to download purchased videos before the end of the month. Those who have an active library but do not have the HTC Watch application on their smartphone are advised to contact HTC support for an installer.
