Sony announces PlayStation Now cloud gaming service

After having acquired Gaikai, a company that specialized in streaming games over the internet to your device, it was obvious that at some point in the future Sony would be adding the feature to its PlayStation line. It would allow users to go beyond the limits of native compatibility and do things like play PS3 games on their PS4 or PSVita.

That dream has now finally coming to reality with the launch of the PlayStation Now service. With this, you will be able to stream PS3 games to your PS4 and PS3 at first and on to the PSVita at a later date. But that’s not all. You will also be able to stream games to compatible 2014 Sony Bravia TVs and smartphones/tablets.
The service leverages Gaikai’s know-how in the matter to run games on its servers and then stream the video to your device. All you need at your end is a fast enough internet connection, and I don’t just mean high bandwidth connection but low latency one as well, and a controller and you’re good to.For now, it is limited to the US.
