Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 are not going to be the only watertight Android flagships
this year, it seems, as Korean media is reporting about more coming
down the pipeline. While Samsung has used a third party Korean company
for the Liquid Silicon Moulding method in the water-resistant S5, LG and
Pantech are going with internally-developed waterproofing techniques,
claims the publication. Samsung is allegedly going to use the same thin
silicon film methodology, to prevent water from entering its upcoming Galaxy Note 4 phablet, too, the sources advised.
The other two big Korean manufacturers are using their own research
for the purpose, and the insiders say it will go towards releasing a
waterproof LG G3, and Pantech Vega Iron 2 flagships. It's not the first time we are hearing that the G3 will be waterproof,
too. The sources mention May as the month, when those two handsets are
likely to be unveiled, which jibes with previous information that the G3 has been pulled forward for May 17th release. All in all, it seems that this year will be the year of the waterproof Android top dogs, which can only benefit us users.
